What if the soul incarnates in a body which is mentally handicapped?
Posted: May 2nd, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Travel For Disabled | Tags: Body, handicapped, incarnates, mentally, soul | 16 Comments »For those who believe in reincarnation, they say that after a long series of incarnating into various body forms, a soul enters a human body and finally has a chance to work out his karmic reactions because he has already acquired a consciousness that lower forms of creations does not have. if you were born mentally handicapped, are you still creating good and bad karma or are you in some kind of a vacation from karmic reactions??
question is for those WHO BELIEVE in reincarnation please. thank you =)
the soul does NOT re-incarnate.
Interesting. very interesting. No, all things, according to those beliefs, create karmic reactions. It may not be in the same way as other things, but itll play its part.
You don’t have to worry about it – reincarnation isn’t real.
Is it possible that being mentally handicapped IS working out your Karma?
My understanding is that Darma is simply experiencing different viewpoints.
Consequences are part of the physical world.
These are for our learning. We all have things to learn at our own rate.
Some cultures believe that what we call mental handicaps are really more enlightened people that we should look to for guidance.
I guess it beats a mentally handicapped soul incarnating a body of normal to high intelligence.
I don’t believe that karma carries over to the next life. We reap what we sow in this one.
I do believe that a soul in a handicapped body chose to be there.
Just think of the knowledge and experience a soul could obtain from a lifetime in a Down’s body.
good question.
i guess it depends on the disability – some are more severe than others, some affect only motor functions, whereas others effect cognitive ability.
Freedom of choice is limited by any disability. Being disabled is no holiday from karmic reactions! It is a full manifestation of a lot of bad reactions. Sad, but true.
Be good.
You’re mixing transmutation with reincarnation. The soul is only reincarnated into a human form…….the soul chooses what life experiences it needs to learn to continue it’s journey to a higher plane……….mentally handicapped, deformed, physically handicapped, or genius..we are all here to learn and progress to a higher state.
I believe that when we are ‘hanging out’ before our souls are re-born that we determine what lessons we need to take on in this life time to evolve our souls.
So with that being said I believe we choose to have a disability and we choose families to play out our karma with.
That again is my belief.
I believe in reincarnation, but not between species. We are always humans if we’re on earth. I think a big percentage of reincarnation believers do not go for the interspecies thing.
My aunt it mentally handicapped–brain damaged from DPT shots. I think that sometimes a person accepts that life in order to provide a lesson for others. I believe my aunt took this job to help my grandparents, aunts and uncles with different lessons.
The preachers of reincarnation wrongly explain that such condition is payment for sins of the previous life.
In reality, human souls are not affected by handicapped bodies or minds.
The One True God is just and merciful, and His mercy is boundless. We better investigate the truth independently rather than listening to other people.
GU-UN
Mentally handicap people are subject to their karma as well. Because it is their karma we cannot know what from the past resulted in their condition. Dr. David R. Hawkins, a spiritual leader, healer, and researcher of consciousness used to be a psychiatrist, tells of a story when he had a mental patient who was mute, deaf and was diagnosed incurable. When presented with the patient, he silently ask God what he wanted him to do with her. Then suddenly came the silent response that said just love her. And at that moment he could see the inner peace in her eyes. The patients consciousness advanced with the knowingness that she was loved. Karmically, she was spiritually fortunate to be at ease with her condition.

You look like you got punched by your b/f.
That’s interesting that you mention that – my son (three years old) went along with my wife and I on our volunteer trip to a home for the mentally and physically handicapped, and when I look at him, there is my son sitting on the lap of a man who I assume has cerebral palsy, he can’t move anything, and my son is chatting away.
I asked him, what are you doing?
And he said, Abba, it’s his body that’s not working! His soul is just fine.
