Reactivating a closed checking account !!?
Posted: November 8th, 2011 | Author: admin | Filed under: Travel For Disabled | Tags: account, checking, closed, Reactivating | 2 Comments »hello everybody…i have an account with cinco credit union…my account ran negative for 45 days for an amount of 32$..i dint see that …i have now cleared the negative account but my checking account has been closed…my share account is still active and watever cheques i have deposited directly gets deposited to my savings..The problem is now im on a vacation to india…i have only one debit card which is linked with the cheking a/c…im unable to use it even though i have money in my share acount….when i contacted the bank officials thru email they said that since my a/c ran negative for 45 days they closed my checking a/c…is there anyway i could request them to activate my closed cheking account without which i will be unable to use my debit card here in india and i will be totally handicapped.Can i convince my bank to activate my checking account online since i will be in india for another 2 months and i really need the debit card to shop here…please help me…
Just ask from somebody from you family to feed your account with money coz I don’t believe that there is any way chance to convince them otherwise.
I think you’ll have to open a new checking account and get a new debit card. I’m not sure how you’ll do that from India though. Call the credit union again and explain your situation. Ask them if they can open a new checking account and order you a new debit card. It might take a couple of weeks to get the card in the mail so try to get it done quickly.
