George: Unless you are ranked nationally in the next couple years I doubt it. Play for your high school and try for a golf scholarship and hope for some success in both high school and college. Get a coach/instructor.

You have to get a ranking. That draws attention and can get you into a good college. I would try to play for my hs team if it is good for experience and make a total complete commitment for all the details that make for a great golfer.
How is your family support and do you want to do the work.
At your stage it is time to either step up and do the work and make your own way or not. I think you just might have it in you and I wish you the best of luck in the greatest game ever played.

There’s at least one kid your age on every jr. high school team in America(not mention Korea and Japan and Europe) that can what you do. Better see if you can do it under pressure. Start playing in local tournaments and see how you stack up. 125 players on the PGA make money out of 40 million golfers in the US! Let ‘er rip!

You have 8 years to improve your game by at least 8 strokes, which would make you #1 man on the high school team, a shoo – in at the college level . Then, if you can scrape together $ 3 to 5M, pass regional qualifiers and finish in the top 25 you will make the Tour.

It isnt about how far you hit.. sure it helps gain an advantage… but only if you can control it. I know someone who can hit it 332 yards but he only hits it straight about 2 of 10 times. It is about how you score. You have to practice and i mean practice hard!! And dont just hit balls at the range… go out on the course, play shots you wouldnt normally have because one day you will, play a lot, work on par 3′s, work on your weaknesses. Just practice a lot.
I am a 17 year old girl. I am a 1 handicap. I hit it 290 yards. I have been playing golf for only 2 years. I love it. I have a full ride scholarship already and i am a junior in high school. But here is how i practice and how long.
Monday – Friday — Make 100 3 foot putts in a row, Play 9 holes, hit range balls, Play 9 more holes, Do putting drills, go on the Par 3 course and play 9 holes, Hit a few more range balls, Short game drills. (and that is my every day schedule… every weekday)
On Saturdays and Sundays, i play 18 holes on the Par 3 and 18 holes on the regulation, then i do a lot of short game.
So just keep your head up, keep practicing, and everybody has a chance to make it on Tour. It just matters how much heart and determination you put into every single day of practicing
