Anybody here interested in the Tour de France?

I remember back in the 1980′s when I had to read about the day’s results in the next day’s newspaper, but now, with Versus, I’m able to wake up in the morning and watch it. I know that they’ve had a lot of drug scandals the past few years but there’s a lot more to it than that. Have you ever wondered how those guys race up the Alps and Pyrenees, and then safely (most of the time) race DOWN the Alps and Pyrenees? I wish I had known about professional bicycling back when I was a kid, but, now I’m way too old, and handicapped, so, I only fantasize, and love watching the Tour on Versus. Who do you think will win this year?
I love the Tour de France GO TEAM CSC SAXO BANK! Frank and Andy Shleck oh yeaaaaah
I remember Wide World of Sports with Jim McKay televising only one hour of the entire race a week after it ended.
I have not missed a stage of the TDF since the Outdoor Channel (now Versus) started telecasting. I am lucky enough to have a wife who is probably a bigger fan than I. She is from Italy and remembers listening to the race with her grandparents in the ’50s. on the radio.
I also follow all of the other races during the year. I wish Versus would give the same coverage to the Giro d’Italia and the Veulta d’Espagna as they do the tour of California and the Tour de France.
I don’t think Sastre has enough time between himself and Evans, so I think Evans will win.
Would have liked to have seen Contdador and Liephiemer in the race. We would not be talking about Evans today if they were there.
Team CSC is the high dollar juggernaut of the grand tours now that T-Mobile withdrawn their sponsorship. I personally cheer for the smaller teams with young riders. I, of course, am also cheering for the two US teams this year. Garmin-Chipotle and Team Columbia are both doing well. They’ll come up short on the Team classification but they are definitely making a name for themselves.
I am a fan of the tour de france myself and this year i think Cadel Evans will win. Sastre second and Schleck 3rd and team CSC will win the teams. Team Columbia is pretty good. I also wish Astana was in the race this year because the have Levi Leiphimer and Alberto Contador.
