I am planning a vacation, and I need some ideas as to where to go!?

I live in Chicago with my wife and 8 yr old son. We are planning a quick 5 day getaway, and want to drive to our wherever we go.

However, due to my wife being disabled, she can not stay seated in a car for very long extended periods of time, so we feel it would be best if wherever we go we keep it to less than 6 hours of distance (by Car) from the Chicago area – I plan on stopping every 2 hours so she can get out and stretch her legs.

We were tossing around a few ideas – Like driving up to Mall of America, or maybe driving to Indianapolis.

And no, We are not flying (TOO EXPENSIVE!)

Anyone got any ideas of a fun destination?

Or even better yet, anyone know of a website that can help us get ideas and make plans???

I need some questions to ask my girlfriend?

Posted: June 22nd, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Travel For Disabled | Tags: , , , | 1 Comment »

My girlfriend is going on a trip to Mexico for 8 days, and she really loves Formspring, so I thought I would ask her a ton of questions while she’s gone, so she can answer them all when she gets back. Any questions will work, nothing sexual, and nothing simple like favorite movies, or favorite color, I’ve already thought of those.

Some background on her, she’s 15, almost 16, she’s Christian, 2 sisters and 1 brother, she has a blind dad, and a visually impaired mom, she lives in California, she’s very beautiful, really sweet, crazy cute, and I love her a lot.

I would love it if you could think of like 10 or more questions for me to ask her, and send this question to a couple of friends for me.

Here are some of the questions I’ve thought of before, so you can get an idea:

18.Team Edward or Team Jacob?

19.Do you like SpongeBob?

20.Would you rather travel to Australia or Brittan?

21.Han Solo or Indiana Jones?

22.Favorite clothing store?

23.Would you rather have your last name be Hitler, or not have a last name at all?

24.Would you ever get gauges?

25.Oreos or Girl Scout Cookies?

26.What Disney princess would you be if you had to be one?

27.Ever skateboarded?

28.Favorite key on your keyboard?

29.If you had to have another sibling, would you want another brother, or another sister?

30.Trumpet or Trombone?

Thanks in advance. (:

What are some handicap/wheelchair accessible coupes?

Posted: May 18th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Transportation | Tags: , , , | 1 Comment »

I currently drive a 2-door 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I enter through the passenger side door and transfer to the drivers seat. I then fold my wheelchair and slide it in the back seat. I am paralyzed from the chest down and have full mobility of my arms, however I do not want to have to enter the drivers side door and take the chair apart. The method I do now is what I would like to do on a future vehicle. I do not want a van or minivan. I would love to buy a nice new car. If you know of any 2-door coupes that meet the requirements of my situation, then please let me know about them.
