To make a long story short, I was working when we got robbed. I was the only person behind the teller line when one man ran right at me and the other came and pointed the gun at me. I tried to come back but it proved too scary. I quit and I got a paycheck in the mail for 0.00. Even though I had worked and also earned vacation time. Human resources had no answers for me and I called my former supervisor who has not returned my call! I am very angry, after what I went through I thought they would be a little nicer about things. But now I am forced to fight and make several calls to try to get the money that I earned? I am also emotionally handicapped because it’s hard for me to find another job where I can actually feel safe, I had a gun pointed to my head and all I wanted was my final paycheck! I have been trying to find an attorney, but does anybody have any suggestions?

Our hearing is something that most people take for granted. It’s when our hearing starts to deteriorate that we suddenly realise how much we depend on it. It doesn’t need a total loss of hearing to make everyday living much more difficult.
What happens when you wake up in the morning. Do you rely on an alarm clock to get you out of bed? If you do, at some point when you start to lose your hearing you’ll find it’s just not loud enough to wake you up. Sometimes you’ll hear it, sometimes you won’t. And at some point you could find it never wakes you in the morning.
Luckily there are alarm clocks that will wake you even if you are hearing impaired. These alarm clocks vibrate as well as being extra loud when they ring. So you can go to bed knowing that your vibrating alarm clock will get you up on time in the morning. So you’ll have no more worries about sleeping in and missing important appointments.
Then there’s the phone problem. Most of us rely on our phones to keep in regular contact with friends, family and work. If you’ve reached the stage when you’ve turned up the volume on your phone to the maximum your next step is to look at a hard of hearing phone.
They look exactly like normal phones but have extra loud ring tones and the ability to amplify the volume so you can hear the person speaking. You may have to look around to find one but they are available. Choose a good brand that has a reputation for making phones for those with hearing problems.
Let us not forget the humble doorbell. You’ll want to know when someone has come to visit. Extra loud doorbells are available as are one with portable devices that you can carry around with you. When someone rings your doorbell the device will vibrate to let you know someone is there.
Don’t let yourself start to feel isolated if you begin to lose your hearing. There’s plenty of new technology out there to let you lead as normal a life as possible.
