How To Survive On A Caravan Holiday

Posted: October 21st, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

More and more people are choosing to go on a caravan holiday these days. This is a fantastic way to get a break from every day life. But if this type of holiday is totally new to you then it would not be uncommon for you to be asking ‘how will I get through this’? In this article you will find the ideal survival guide to caravan holidays

  • Some people are concerned with how they are going to keep clean on a caravan holiday. Getting a shower installed in the caravan is possible however, it can be expensive. Thankfully most caravan sites have shower rooms so a lot of people will just use these. If you do not intend to be staying near a caravan site then a great solution is to have a wash in a river or even in the sea talk about going back to nature. Some people will even just use a couple of buckets of water to wash themselves.
  • With most caravans not having washing machines or tumble dryers, clean clothes is another issue that some people have. When I want to clean my clothes, I will use two buckets and fill one with warm water and detergent and put clear water in the other one to rinse the clothes. However, most caravan sites will have a laundry room with washing machines that you can use.
  • A lot of people also worry about cooking in a caravan. I prefer not to cook in the caravan because I find that the smell of food tends to linger. If you want to cook your food outside then it might be a good idea to take a portable gas cooker with you. It is also possible to buy a portable electric cooker but you need to realise that if you do this, it will probably eat your caravan’s electricity. If you really want to have the whole natural experience then lighting a campfire is also possible.

For plenty of people, a sunshine holiday break is now expensive so staying in the british isles is their only option. Of these, many elect to stay in caravan or camping parks. Needless to say then that today caravans are quite popular when it comes to these people.

Holiday apartments

Holiday apartments are one way to find a convenient place to stay when you are traveling for the holidays. These apartments are usually for rent from the owner for an agreed specified time. It is easy to find apartments for rent during holidays. Most apartment owners find it easier to list their home with a company that already has an internet site that is used just for the purpose of showcasing rental properties, but there are some out there that like to manage the rental themselves.

You will find listings for both types of management on the internet. The internet makes searching, finding and comparing Holiday apartments easy. Whether you look on an established rental site or and individuals webpage, you should be able to see a picture of the apartment(s) that is for rent. These pictures should give you a good idea of what the apartment looks like. The pictures should showcase everything. On that same webpage there should be a written description of the property as well as where the property is located, and what is in the surrounding area, and what types of activities might be available near the apartment.

Most holiday apartments are already supplied with everything you will need for your stay. The apartment will of course have the base amenities like couch, chairs, beds w/linens, bathroom w/linens, pillows, etc… Many will come with other items such as BBQ grill, TV, microwave. Some apartments will accept pets, but it is best to verify this first. If you would need any type of disability access you should ask and make sure the property has what you need available. You might also ask to see if it is recommended you get a car or if everything is within walking distance of the apartment. You might also ask what restaurants are close by or within a short distance that you could visit. If you think you might need medical assistance, you might ask where the nearest doctor’s office would be located.

Booking the holiday apartment is usually a simple process and can be done online or through the person responsible for renting the apartment. When your vacation time comes there is usually a greeter at the apartment with the keys and any other vital or pertinent information you will need for your stay. If you ask, some apartment rental companies have pickup/drop-off service from the airport during your stay. All usually can be arranged for beforehand to make your vacation experience exceptional. When you stay is completed, you just pack your things and close the door behind you. Most likely it will have arranged with the rental agency or owner for you to leave the key inside the apartment.

The rental market for apartments and other type’s vacation properties is a very successful business. But like all business, they also rely on the recommendation and referrals from their customers. If you are happy with your stay at the holiday rental make sure that you tell them that you enjoyed your stay.

Gulf Shores Tourism Improving after Last Years Slowdown

Posted: September 8th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Destination Guides, Uncategorized | Tags: , , , | No Comments »

The year 2010 wasn’t a very good one for Gulf Shores, Alabama, where tourism was concerned. The oil spill that happened during the year polluted the seas to such an extent that a enormous effort was mandatory over a number of subsequent months to clean all of it up. The spill was the outcome of an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig. As a direct consequence of the oil spill, summer time months saw considerably fewer travelers traveling to the Gulf Shores last year.

Definite Signs of Improvement

Yet, the tide appears to have turned this summer time with more travelers picking Gulf Shores for their vacation destination this year. As documented in this WLOX.com news report, people who run businesses here are quite happy with the improvement in tourism. After all, more travelers suggests much better business for them. Owner of the Scoot-A-Round, C.J. Gough, describes business as being extremely good this year. He states that the solid tourism experienced during spring break indicates that the region should expect an outstanding crowd during summer as well. Many other establishments are also enjoying the positive impact of improvement in tourism levels. A number of condos as well as resorts haveexpressed much better rental levels in recent weeks indicating that more tourists are coming to Gulf Shores.

For several businesses, it will require much more than one good summer to make up for last years accumulated losses. Even then, the fact that travelers have started dribbling in again is really a very good signal for the future of Gulf Shores tourism. Because the beaches here are regarded as being some of the very most impressive ones worldwide, it’s not unusual that, once again, travelers are finding them very irresistible when the mercury rises to incredible levels.

The Perfect Getaway

Gulf Shores, Alabama is the ideal getaway if you’re stretched to the limit with 24 hour work days for the better part of the year. The emerald seas and miles of pristine white sands of the Gulf Shores beaches are truly a feast for weary eyes. Just lay back on the beach and let the comforting sound of the waves lull you into total and complete relaxation. Take part in the many leisure activities that this city presents. You will see that a number of travelers try their hand at fishing or golfing here while enjoying their getaway. If you are a history enthusiast, make sure to go to the historic Fort Morgan. This Civil War site documents the way of life in this area back in those days. Handy signs tell the story of fort commanders and ship captains who lived during this time period.

An Ideal Holiday Resort

Your Gulf Shores vacation will be the best vacation only when you stay at rooms offering the best with regard to luxury, comfort plus service. If these would be your focus then a bluegreen resorts vacation home is one and only place for you. In the Gulf Shores, you will discover 2 Bluegreen resorts – the Shoreline Towers and Paradise Isle. Both these resorts can be found in easy reach of the beach so that you can merely walk down to the stunning waters whenever you feel in the mood for a cooling dip. The friendly staff members at these resorts will be only too happy to go that step further to make your Gulf Shores vacation a very remarkable experience.

Santa’s Village on Palm Drive – Holiday Lights 2009

Posted: June 9th, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Destination Guides | Tags: , , , , , , | 1 Comment »

For the second year in a row, our holiday light display has been awarded “Best in Animated Display” from our local city-wide contest. We used between 9000 and 10000 lights, more than 8000 of which are energy efficient LED bulbs – which use 80% less energy than regular, incandescent bulbs . The theme is Santa’s Village, a theme park and local distribution center located in the foothills of Los Angeles’s San Gabriel Valley area. The park is obviously a popular vacation destination for visiting North Pole’rs.
