I work at a large medical office and the site manager is my direct manager. I am a registration secretary and there are about six of us working directly under her, the rest have doctors or department heads to turn to. The manager has been in this building for about two years she worked for the same practice prior to that just in a differnet building. I have worked here for a year and a half. In that time there have been two other people who worked under her that got pregnant, needless to say they are no longer here. The first one she continualy harrassed and called into the office about things like wearing to much perfume (no office policy regarding perfume) parking in a handicapped spot (the spot was not handicapped) and wrote her up continueoulsy for taking time off (she had a doctors note) this woman went to HR but they said there was nothingthey could do and so the woman quite. The second woman woman worked beside me and I watched her get called in to the managers office daily and get repremanded for everything from being 4 minutes late (morning sickness in the parking lot) to not smiling enough, she even called her in the office and said “I didnt get you pregnant, so why wont you smile when I go downstairs” then called me in the office to tell me she said it. One day she came down and whipped a box of gloves on our desk and it hit the woman and she was so stressed she got rushed to the ER that same day. She went on Intermittant FMLA and our manager even harrased her about that calling her in everytime and saying she needed notes (not required under FMLA) and telling her all kinds of things wernt covered under the FMLA (that were) This woman stuck it out and at the end of her maternity leave she was two days late coming back (the manager never discussed maternity leave with her, she said she wasnt getting involved) because her doctor was on vacation and she needed certain papers signed. Well the manager said “I have a bussiness to run so I have to let you go” She then called her continuously for the next few days asking for a letter of resignation, the woman refused and when they got to the unemployment hearing the HR lady said we never fired you, we wouldnt fire some one for that, and well you should have quite if the situation was that bad. There still in a appeal process.
So here I am, I am not my bosses favorite by any means (my son has bad Asthma and I am on intermittant FMLA for that) she hates anybody that calls out excpecially for your children, pets on the otherhand thats fine!, so I just found out I’m pregnant (to be honest once my maternity leaves over I probably wont be back) but I want to stay working through my pregnancy because the $$$ will pay off any debts and get us ready for the baby. Is there any advise on how I should handle this situation with my boss?
I wasnt planning on even telling my manager until much further along probably when I start showing, , But I got morning sickness, bad headaches, and I’m exhauseted, plus peeing every three minutes (I had no symptoms with my son) so some coworkers are catching on and I’m assuming it will start getting around very fast as things do here, and very soon I will be called into her office and asked so I dont know what I should do to beat her at her own game before she starts
So now My issues start:
have had all the symptoms there are and do to previous LEEP procedures my cervix is a bit thinner than usual, there were no complications with my son but still after telling my doctor about my managers previous history she dicided it would be best for me to ease through this pregnancy and has filled out the intermittant FMLA paperwork, which my manager is freaking about. Because this mean when ever I am in need I can take a day off. Well now the office call ins have begun….
I emailed HR last week to say i had a doc apt and after my doc saw me she planned to fill out FMLA paperwork but I needed to take the day off and actually see her so I wasnt sure if I should put FMLA on the time off request or not because I had no earned time due to my sons approved intermittant FMLA sor his asthma. I told HR i did not want my manager to know yet the was pregnant for fear the stress that may be caused and this would increase my symptoms. HR never responded back!
So I just put in a slip on friday for monday stating pending FMLA, my manager asked me about three times on friday why I was taking another FMLA and I kept simply saying for medical reasons.
So I was out on monday, and Tuesday I was getting tests done so I was also out. I called on Tuesday and left a message on her cell phone (she has never answered my calls) and on her works voicemail. (normal protocol) I was under the impression that my OB was going to be faxing over the paper work to HR after they filled it out.
Wednesday I was walking around the second floor to get my water bottle filled and over heard manager and one of her spyes commenting o
Am disabled injured worker that will no longer be able to do the job had. Am wanting to find a good woman that doesn’t have children living around home, doesn’t rely on mother to help them pay bills, doesn’t drink, is intelligent, loves to cook and help me in the kitchen when I cook. Likes going out sometimes, but likes settin’ at home with me watching good movie. And likes helping those less fortunate. Don’t like going out to clubs. Likes children to the point of creating places for them to get involved in to stay off streets and out of gangs. Loves traveling to places where we can camp, fish, and cook outside on the ground and loves the ol’ cowboy way of life, and also likes poetry, good soft music, and country. And loves to experiment in cooking. Loves family outings, and going maybe to an outside movie while fixing something like chicken, potato salad, and tea. And will not have to rely on me to get her out of debt, but am self supportable, or even rich would be fine. Love life.

I use powered wheelchair and I want to take a vacation to a beach with beautiful scenery in So. Cal. As you know, a wheelchair cannot travel on sands, so I need to visit a beach that allows me to travel and enjoy views.
I live near Fullerton, the home of CSU: Fullerton. I want to visit a beach and check into a good hotel nearby for a night and return to home the next day. Three of my family will go with me.
Please be specific with details and/or inform me with good website to search for hotels and to reserve it, and to search for beaches nearby.
Any suggestions for good Theatre Arts summer camps to work at? I have experience working at children’s summer camps for ages 8-18 teaching drama, specifically acting and improvisation. I also dabbled in full scale productions for one camp and working with disabled children. I really don’t care where in the US the camps are either. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks!
