Looking for community resources for developmentally disabled teens in Cincinnati OH area.?

MO and CA have “regional centers” that act as coordination point for services and funding. I’m looking for the equivalent in Cincinnati area. Also looking for organizations that provide services such as respite, summer camps, day camps, residential placements and any other contacts that will help.

Local CMH should be able to help with supports and sevices. In our state we also have AWS which helps with housing, activities for people, etc.

I am from Ohio also but can’t quite remember what county Cinci is in…is it Hamilltion? Ohio is the only state that has County Boards of Mental Retardation, they provide a wide range of services. Here is the link for the http://www.hamilton-co.org/mrdd/

I don’t know how old the person you are tryng to help is, but if they are under 21 and still attending school, this would be a useful resource: http://www.hcesc.org/

Lastly, this source can help you with just about everything. 211 is not an emergency number. It is a number to call when you need connection with a resource. They should be able to help you find respite, camps, residential placements and anything else you need.
