    Just don’t load any videos on it. I’m not sure there is an actual way to disable major abilities on the Nano, but there probably is a way on the Touch. Orrrrr he could just not broadcast to the world that he has movies on his iPod.

    I just know iPod nano 6 can not playback video, maybe you can get one for him…
